Counting down...

Today is the beginning of another month and means we are one day closer to living out our dream.  We've been living in the RV full-time since the 15th of December and it's been great living in our little space.  The weather here in Nashville has been cold and miserable on more days than not and it seems the only sunny days are when I'm at work instead of on the weekend.  I'm looking forward to the day we can pack it in and get on with full-time RVing and travel, travel, travel!  We are hoping by the first of March to be on the road full-time.  Our first destination will be the Florida panhandle to visit with my parents for a while and then we'll be going down south along one coast and back up the other side.  I look forward to a wonderful adventure with my husband and all that is in store for us.

New Year's Eve

As 2014 comes to an end, I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year's!  Not sure how we will be able to top this year as we got married, had a new grandbaby, sold our sticks and bricks house and so much more. I can only hope that 2015 will bring us many miles on the road exploring many locations throughout the US as that is the only way we could ever attempt to top 2014.

We spent tonight watching Dick Clark's New Year's Eve Rock n' Roll wondering where some of those artists come from as I have never heard many of their names much less their music.  Looking forward to watching the Rose Parade on HGTV tomorrow.  Maybe once we start traveling we'll find our way to Pasadena to see the parade live...in the meantime I'll enjoy it in the comfort of my house where it's warm and cozy.

Speaking of our house....I am loving the comfort of my 400 square foot. We have everything we could ever need and it's great not having so much to take care of. Although it does seem strange not having stuff to do like clean yards, repair this and that and all the other stuff that goes with a big house.  I question why I never done this sooner.

Merry Christmas...

It's our first married Christmas and our first Christmas in the RV!!!

We would like to wish all you fellow RVer's a very Merry Christmas!  Can't wait to join you full-timers in the many adventures that I know await us.

Our first tree in the RV

Our "star".... we picked this up in Santa Monica, CA back in January 2014.
I think it suits the tree well as a topper.

My favorite ornament...
"Mr. and Mrs."

Having our first Christmas in the RV was definitely a new experience.  I wasn't sure if I was even going to decorate as none of the kids would be around, bu tin the end I put up a small tree and set out few decorations that I had kept.  When we went to Florida in November we took two of the grandkids gifts then and let their Momma keep them hidden until now.  We skyped with them last night so we could watch them open up their gifts. My daughter needs lots of practice in how to hold phone steady.  Being there in person would have been a much better experience but since that wasn't possible at least we got to see them with their stuff.  Today I was able to spend a couple hours with the youngest grandson who is only 5 months old and it was great to just be able to see him and hold him. He had no idea what all the fuss was about opening gifts, but it was still a joy just to have him in my arms.

Henry Horton State Park...

Today we decided to go to the local state park and see what we might discover.  We encountered several deer while driving through the park.  It was nice to get out and relax and just enjoy not having anything to do.  Getting use to not having a "project" to work on has been challenging, but I look forward to the day when my time is filled with exploring many new places as we travel all over the US.  Here are a few of my favorite shots from today's adventure.

Closed on Sticks and Bricks.....New Park

Today was both a joyous day and a sad one.  We signed the closing papers on our house, so now we are "officially" full-timing in the RV.  Joyous that we sold...Sad that I had to sell the first home I've ever bought on my own.  I had been living in the house when Greg and I met so it was something that I was able to obtain on my own during my independent, do it myself days.  Joyous that we no longer have that debt hanging over us and we are one step closer to our dreams...sad that I still have the J-O-B to go to everyday!

Today was also the day that we had to move the RV to a new park.  We moved to a place that is closer to my job so I don't have to make that hour drive to work anymore.  Greg broke down and moved and set up at the new spot while I was a work. All I had to do was set a few knick knacks out when I got home.  I think I can get use to this life.  I love my new little house....400 sq feet....only takes 30 minutes to clean.  The only thing missing is a couple furry companions, but they will come in due time.
